There’s something so comforting about making birria and the delicious aromas of spices coming from the kitchen. It brings me back so many memories 🫶🏻🥹
Here’s how I make mine!
Recipe is for 3 pounds of beef
- Beef chuck
- beef short ribs
- 1 head of garlic
- Thyme
- 1 tablespoon of coriander seeds
- 1 teaspoon of cloves
- Salt
- Pepper
- 1 teaspoon of oregano
- Bay leaf
- Onion 🧅
- Garlic powder
For the consome
- 5 chili 🌶️ California
- 4 chili New Mexico
- 3 guajllo chili
- 2 Padilla chili
- 1 teaspoon of clove
- 1 teaspoon of coriander
- 2 garlic cloves
- 2 tomatoes
- 1/4 vinegar
- Salt
- 1 tablespoon of chicken bullion
Simmer the meat with the spices until tender. Once tender remove the meat & strain the broth.
Simmer on medium heat the consume ingredients until soft 30 minutes. Blend in the blender with the vinegar, raw cloves & salt. Strain it over the beef broth and continue to cook for another hour or so on low heat.
